Welcome
We specialise in Bereavement, Trauma and Loss Counselling and Training
You have probably come to us because you or someone you know, may benefit from some support following a bereavement, trauma or loss. We provide counselling to children, young people and adults.
Bereavement Counselling
For most of us, grief will be the most distressing experience we will ever face. We are often ill-prepared for how it will impact us in the days, months and years ahead. For some people the support of family and friends at this time is sufficient.
For others, having a neutral, confidential space, where you can talk about your experience and the effect on your life, provides another vital source of support at this time. For many, knowing that there is somewhere just for you, where you are not having to worry about the person you are talking to or ‘burdening’ them, provides additional support for you.
There is no right or wrong way to grieve. Each person’s experience of grief is unique, and so is the type of support you need. Bereavement counselling can be helpful at any time when you are grieving.
For many people, counselling may not be something you have had before, and may wonder how it can help. However, grief often impacts in all aspects of our lives, and can leave us feeling unable to cope day to day, and the future may feel overwhelming.
Sheridan and Paul have extensive experience of delivering therapy to clients impacted by all types of bereavement. This includes:
Pre – loss:
Children and young people:
Of course children and young people grieve too when someone close to them passes away. Depending on the age of the child, they may or may not be able to tell you their thoughts and feelings.
Bereavement support sessions
If you would like the opportunity to meet for a session to talk through something in particular related to your loss but don’t feel counselling is right at this time, a one off support session may be right for you. For example, this may be returning to work, supporting children through their grief or a more general chance just to talk and to hear some strategies and ways to cope.
